Floral tape is a special, stretchy, wax-coated paper (or similar material) tape used in floristry. It’s not sticky like regular tape — the adhesive activates only when you stretch the tape before wrapping. 

It’s typically available in green (to blend with stems) but also comes in other colors. 

Binding stems together: After trimming and arranging flowers, florists wrap floral tape around the stems to hold them together firmly — this keeps the bouquet structure intact. 

Concealing wires or support materials: If you use floral wire or stem-support wire to strengthen weak stems, floral tape covers and hides the wire for a clean, natural finish.

Strengthening weak stems: For delicate flowers or stems that might bend or break easily, floral tape helps reinforce them so they stay upright. 

Creating bouquet handles: Once stems are taped together, you can wrap ribbon or decorative paper around the tape to form a neat handle — ideal for gifting or presentations. 

Securing corsages, boutonnieres, floral crowns: For wearable floral pieces (like corsages or boutonnières), floral tape is essential to bind and hold the small flowers together securely.
